Jim Corbett National Park

Popularly known as Tiger reserve, the National park is huge ( more than 1000 sq. km.) with more than 100 plant species, about 50 mammal species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species. Located in the foothills of Himalayas, Jim Corbett National Park is spread in Nainital, Pauri Garwhal and Bijnore district of Uttaranchal in India. The most popular wild life attractions are Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos & Deers. Tourists are supposed to follow eco-friendly tips while visiting the park, so that the ecological balance is not disturbed by human intervention. Tourists are not supposed to make noise which may disturb animals, should preferably wear green or brown shades and avoid bright shocking colors and should not litter (plastic use is prohibited).This also increase your chances to see more and more animals closely. Who knows, you could just get lucky to meet the most swift and intense feline species- Panthera Tigris (Tiger). Or you might just get to satiate with some pawns or nailmarks!
From Delhi (the capital of India) it takes about 7 hours by road to reach Ramnagar, which has several resorts and lodgings. Or one can also go to Ramnagar by train. From Ramnagar Jeep safaris (most popular) are available.
