- Take one teaspoon honey, add a pinch of black pepper in it and swallow it. Do this 4-5 times a day.While honey will soothe your throat, black pepper will fight the infection.
- Saline gargles (a teaspoon of salt in warm water) are good to rid of sore throat at the earliest
- Add half teaspoon Curcumin (haldi) to 1/4th cup of warm milk and drink it at night. This works like an antibiotic.
- Dry Amla (Embellica officinalis, gooseberry) pieces work like cough drops and soothes throat while fighting with the infection
- Keep a salted ginger piece in your mouth (dry or fresh) to avoid coughing
- Keep Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum, Basil) in your mouth to avoid coughing
